I started blogging about nine years ago, and within those nine years I had major pitfalls. Most of the downfalls were actually blessings in disguise as they helped me build my blogging business.
What started out as a hobby soon turned into a full time career. Blogging has been such a rewarding career and experience as it has lead me to a community of supporting females. People are creatures of connection and the connections I’ve formed in my blogging experience is something I would never take away. Who knew that my hobby would soon turn into a career where I help coach other aspiring bloggers to build their own blogging empires much like the one I’ve managed to create. I turned my outlandish blogging dream into an achievable reality so I am helping others do the same.
While I was creating my blogging empire I frequently searched for other successful bloggers to maintain my motivation. I thought, “Hey if they could do it, I can too!” Everyday I would watch successful bloggers grow. They became my silent motivators.
As I emphasized before, a community of bloggers can provide you the utmost support and motivation you need to carry out your own dreams. This year alone I’ve networked with some of the best bloggers in the industry to provide you with the hope you need. They have also agreed to share their stories with you and some quick tips that may help you with your own blogging journey.
I would say to do it if you have something you are passionate about and know it could change someone’s life for the better. Don’t be afraid to share your voice with the world!
NatashaMy name is Michelle and I am a wife to the hardest working man I know, the mom to two
beautiful daughters and an entrepreneur to three businesses. I was born and raised in El Barrio
in NYC. The first to graduate high school, college and graduate school in my family, I have
overcome my fare share of adversity. Long story (of my adult life) made short… after the birth
of my first daughter and the realization we did not have daycare (or the ridiculous amount of
money needed for it)… I found a position working over night (I am a Pathologists’Assistant). I
watched my daughter during the day and worked overnight. Of course that meant little to no
sleep but that did not bother me because I would do anything to be with my daughter. I did
this throughout my second pregnancy which made it so much harder. I delivered a month early
(my little one had plans of her own) and shortly after was diagnosed with an auto-immune
disorder which ultimately led me to resign from my job. I became a stay at home mom which
was not in the plan.
Now it has been almost 3 years since I have become a stay at home mom (SAHM). I have
focused on my health and brainstorming ideas on how I can contribute financially to our family
while taking care of my girls. I started my entrepreneurial endeavors by opening a small shop
making tutus and tutu dresses. I also became an independent consultant for Beautycounter
because I loved their mission and how they focused on educating consumers about the health
effects ingredients in their personal care products can have. My friend then suggested blogging
because I had so much to say, it would be a good way for me to connect with other moms in
similar situations and there is the potential to monetize it and have a third source of income.
Honestly, at first I was very skeptical because I am not a big fan of social media (that’s another
long story) but then I decided to step WAY out of my comfort zone and just do it!
As a blogger, I want to be that candid voice and share what I have learned in life… or didn’t
learn for that matter. I also want to find others with similar stories and discuss our journey as a
wife, stay at home mom, work at home mom and/or an entrepreneur. I know there is comfort
in knowing you are not alone and/or the only one.
In my opinion, becoming a blogger is not an decision to take lightly. Before you start blogging,
you must know why you are blogging and what you want to blog about. You must also decide if
you are blogging as a hobby or to earn an income from it. Once you make these decisions, I
would read other blogs in the same niche to get ideas for the direction of your blog. Then… I
would just do it!
Build your blog! Create your logo and social media handles. Build your website. Write content
and post it. There are many resources out there that can help you.
I am Amanda Jo and I am a single dog mom, I don’t have many people are to vent to or just simply to chat with, on top of that I used to be Journalist and it was my dream job, unfortunately that job was taken from me a few years back and now I sit at a desk job that is unfulfilling. I needed an outlet to talk, to vent, to be creative, to share ideas, I needed something that was just mine and no one told me how to run it. I spent about a year on designing the page, I was nervous to launch it and I am a design perfectionist, I kept finding another thing to change or tweak. Then at the end of July this year I lost my favorite (I know I shouldn’t say that) dog to heart disease. He was such a fighter, but he was the best dog ever and too young to leave this world. After he passed away I realized that I needed him to be my inspiration to reach my dreams and jump into the unknown. I didn’t want to regret the chances I didn’t take. He became my inspiration to go for it, my love for him pushed me to get my thoughts and creativity out there.
I would say the only person holding you back is you. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but get it out there, get people knowing who you are. You have something amazing to offer the world and if this is something you are even contemplating doing, you want to, so do it, don’t wait for the “right moment” because its never right, you just have to go for it and it will all come together.
Amanda JoMy names Cassie Spanner and I am the chief recipe creator and content writer at Be Forever Healthier. I was inspired to start blogging when I was starting to try and eat healthier but found a lot of conflicting information and confusion in the health and wellness space. I decided to create a blog that kept it simple, and this became the blogs mantra – simple ideas for a healthier life. I’ve always had a passion for writing so the blog also allows me a space to write too.
Blogging is a great way to express yourself creatively. If you are only creating a blog in the hopes to make some money, you might want to consider another career path. But if you are starting a blog about a topic you are passionate about, can invest time in making it and are prepared for quite the journey ahead, which could be years before you see $1, then jump right in! Stay lean, don’t spend ridiculous amounts on money on design etc and just focus on creating the best and most useful content you can. The rest will follow.
These women all have inspiring stories on how their blogging careers came to be! You must feel motivated at this point right?
